The Beacon Resort is a member of the New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program. The NHSLRP envisions a time when travel, dining and leisure activities do not adversely affect the places we visit and strives to ensure eco-responsibility by reducing the environmental footprint and providing a better guest experience. The Beacon Resort has installed energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel including occupancy sensors, LED exit signs and Energy Star appliances. Water use reduction includes low flow showerheads and an optional towel and linen reuse program. Waste reduction initiatives include the elimination of disposable products wherever possible, purchasing post-consumer recycled products, double-sided printing and the donation or refurbishing of furniture and linen. Oil is recycled into biodiesel for heating.
